PSPC-Group, coordinated by Prof. Silvio P. Sabatini, is currently active in investigating the physical processes of biological vision to inspire the designing of artificial perceptual machines based on neuromorphic computational paradigms. The study of biological and artificial vision systems focuses on the physical/structural principles underlying their functional performance. In this spirit, the research activities essentially concern three areas: (1) Functional modeling of cortical visual processing; (2) Neuromorphic algorithms for visual perception; (3) Realization of "perceptual machines" and robotic vision systems.
